POWERFUL NEGOTIATIONS - CHEAT SHEET

I’m Dr. Matt Lohmeyer, and I know a thing or two about negotiation. As the Principal of Negotiation Partners, I regularly lead and advise on major negotiations for government departments and large corporates in Australia and overseas.

This cheat sheet includes a summary of my six steps to become a confident and fearless negotiator. I hope you find it to be a useful tool in guiding you through the negotiation process.

Here is the first step in my Cheat Sheet -

STEP 1: PREPARE SYSTEMATICALLY

This is the most important step. Without proper preparation, you don’t have a hope of negotiating a good deal. Be clear about your wants, your priorities and your open and exit positions.

●● What is your Optimistic Entry (OPEN) for each point?

●● What are your highest priority negotiation points?

●● What is your negotiation IQ or your ‘reluctant EXIT’ position?
