The evolution of the NCRS™ diagnostic
Negotiation Partners is delighted to announce that our NCRS™ diagnostic will shortly be published in the scientific literature. Dr. Matt Lohmeyer developed the NCRS™ diagnostic in 2014. Since then, over 8,000 participants globally have taken the diagnostic to understand their preferred negotiation behaviours.
Whilst the nine NCRS™ techniques are intuitively distinct, proving this scientifically has not been trivial. To do so, Dr. Lohmeyer collaborated with Associate Prof. Daisung Jang at Melbourne Business School to independently validate each of the nine techniques using complex multi-factorial analysis.
Because people often don't distinguish between different techniques when they think about ‘negotiating’, the NCRS™ provides powerful insights into their actual negotiating behaviours.
The outcome of our research to validate the NCRS™ will be presented at the 85th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management and at the International Association of Conflict Management (IACM) conference in July 2025. A full academic publication will follow in due course.
We hope that publishing the diagnostic will serve to make this effective tool more widely available. As professional negotiators, we practise what we teach, we only teach what actually works in practice.
